Make sure that the dog owner has his dog on a leash and puts on a muzzle regardless of the dog breed.
Make sure that the dog owner controls his dog movements during the ride that it is prohibited that the dog moves to sit up front beside the driver without the supervision of the dog owner.
Drive smoothly and avoid sudden stops, sharp turns, or rapid accelerations to prevent the dog from becoming frightened or injured.
Keep distractions to a minimum and focus on the road.
Maintain a comfortable temperature inside the vehicle, avoiding extreme heat or cold.
Use air conditioning or ventilation to ensure the dog's comfort.
Regular breaks for longer rides, plan regular stops to allow the dog to stretch, relieve itself, and hydrate.
Ensure the dog is on a leash before letting it out of the vehicle during breaks.
